Position: Superintendent

Experience

  • Degree not required but preferred
  • At least five years of experience in building trade required.
  • Proven experience as a superintendent on large commercial/federal construction projects


What You'll Do

  • Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, and vendors to complete each project on time.
  • As a supplement to the overall project schedule, prepare look ahead schedules weekly, and communicate them to the subcontractors.
  • Always enforce company’s safety policies at the jobsite, cooperate and assist the SSHO assigned to the project.
  • See that good housekeeping practices are observed and maintained by employees and subcontractors.
  • Document all activities on site in Procore Daily Log section.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining the job office and equipment trailers and see that all mandated notices are properly posted.
  • Work with project team for example assistant superintendent, project engineer/quality control, and project manager to coordinate work, production, and quality to deliver project.
  • Review and analyze site plans, blueprints, specifications, and all construction documents to monitor and ensure project compliance.
  • Accountable for timely completion and delivery of project without compromising on quality.
  • Control production costs through review and approval of time sheets, production and service invoices, delivery and materials testing logs.
  • Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages of the project.
  • Communicate with the project team and support each subcontractor to execute his job duties effectively and efficiently.
  • Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet the varying safety and compliance regulations of each job location.
  • Maintain a written daily log of visitors, job actions performed, materials expended, and problems resolved on the job site.
  • Travel between multiple job sites and simultaneously manage work loads of individual projects if assigned to multiple projects.
  • Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings and cooperating with team members in various roles as necessary
  • Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to owners and architects; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.
  • Assist Project Manager and Operations throughout the duration of the project and final site walk through.
  • Update project documents on construction management software periodically.
  • Ensure that job site is compliant with federal, state, and local notices, safety rules and regulations.
  • Set up first aid, sanitary stations, and water coolers at job site.
  • Maintain inventory control over tools, equipment and material that are on site.
  • Coordinate all orders of materials with Project Managers and secure the necessary purchase order numbers from the accounting department.
